MY WONDERFUL PUGS
If you want to see my face light up, ask about my Pugs or my grandchildren! I could write pages about the "Love of a Pug."

In the slide show above you will find my Pugs just being themselves. Otis is the king of all Pugs here.  The females are all fawn, Joni, Kierra, Tiarra and Chiarra. Since Tiarra and Chiarra are daughters of Kierra and Otis they have the black babies with Gus. Then there is Fawnzie. Fawnzie will soon be the father of my Puggle Puppies.

Pugs originated in China. They were bred to be companion dogs and this is just what they still are today. A Pug can definately be your best friend.

Pugs are like children. Each Pug will have a little different personality. But all equally lovable. My Pugs go through all the spectrums. From Kiera who is a true wild, free spirit to Miles who is happy to be laid back. Then there are those in the middle. Those who want to be petted and loved but also love to run around snuffling into places they aren't always supposed to be.

I found a new accronym that fits very well Pugs. It is PLOP - Pugs love other Pugs. Pugs get along extremely well with other dogs, but it does seem they know a Pug when they see one.

Pug owners are also like the old Potato Chip commercial - You can't have just one. When you fall in love with these wonderful dogs you want more!

They aren't perfect, but the way I love them, none of their faults are big deals. The worse is the shedding. They need to be brushed at the very least once a week to remove their dead hair. And you still need to have a lint roller handy when you wear black. I say that no outfit is complete with a dog hair or two!

They do snort and snuffle and snore. But that is what makes them special.

They don't have a lot of health issues. Except for eye problems. You will need to be especially careful around children with a new puppy. They have bulgy eyes which fascinate little ones and no muzzle to protect them when they are walking around. Just check their eyes and if you see any discoloration or matting, check with your vet immediately. Their eye problems are easy to treat, but do need veterinary medications most of the time.

My love for Pugs started in the mid 1980's with the movie "Milo and Otis". I wanted one of these wonderful dogs, but they were not common to Mid-Missouri at the time. I didn't get my first one, Otis, until 2003. I, then, decided to raise them. I love every puppy born here and make sure they have proper raising! I have wonderful mama dogs who do their job and then at 6 weeks the puppies are turned over to me!

I have to help in the delivery of Pug puppies, so I get to rub and hug them at soon as they are born. These little flat faces are just too kissable, so I pick up every puppy frequently and just nuzzle it against my face. All Pug puppies are raised in my house. Well socialized? Maybe not. I don't like people outside of the family handling my puppies. The risk of disease is too great! I am an over-protective Mama sometimes.

Please look in my pages for the puppies I have available now. I breed each Mama only once a year and try to avoid Summer Puppies. Pugs do not tolerate heat well and it is difficult to fly them to new homes with Summer temperatures. So you will only find puppies available here during the Fall through Spring.
